- Our Team focuses on strengthening local capacity to solve institutional
problems. We believe that only the programs which develop local managerial
and technical capacity can ensure a sustainable solution to environmental
and economic development problems. Our approach emphasizes the development
and building of local capacity through interaction, education and
training.
- DPRA Canada identifies the institutional barriers and devises ways
to overcome them. We realize that institutional weaknesses resulting
in the lack of role definition, coordination, information exchange
and adequate resources have been at the core of development problems
everywhere. We have experience in developing institutional requirements
and successfully applying these experiences to remove institutional
weaknesses.
- DPRA Canada is careful to ensure that all capacity development activities
are sensitive to local circumstances, culture and sensibilities. We
work in close partnership with the local institutions to ensure their
"ownership" of - and involvement in - capacity development from the
start. All training and workshop activities employ interactive formats,
combining lectures with discussions and exercises.
