Geographic Information Systems

Geographic Information Systems (GIS) are computerized mapping software that help corporations, private groups and governments make decisions. These programs work by connecting information stored in a database to locations on a map. Information is displayed in layers, with each succeeding layer laid over the preceding ones. The resulting maps often reveal trends or patterns that might be missed if the same information was simply presented in a spreadsheet.

DPRA Canada is confident that GIS will enable your company or group to recognise new trends and patterns that will improve your business. Projects can include one or all of the following tasks: data collection • digitizing • data conversion • geodatabase development • analysis • map production • and web mapping.
